<p>In the past you may have gotten away with a shotgun approach to marketing. Trying a little TV, Yellow Pages, Internet and Radio may have made sense. <p>Pay Per Click campaigns are bidding wars waged by the firms that want to show up for certain keyword phrases. Those prices are determined by how many people want to pay for the terms and how many clicks those terms are getting. If a Personal Injury Attorney in Los Angeles were to click on the 3 attorneys that show up for sponsored links under &#8220;Personal Injury Attorney Los Angeles&#8221; they would essentially be driving the cost of that spot up.  Imagine if every PI Attorney in Los Angeles did the same thing.</p>

While Pay Per Click (PPC) is one way to get your website viewed it isn&#8217;t the only or even most successful way.  Depending on which article you read, PPC receives about 20-30% of the clicks that an organic listing will receive.  Organic listings are websites that Google or other search engines deem to be a good enough resource to list very high on their results page.  The best thing about showing up well in the organic section is that you don&#8217;t have to pay a dime when someone clicks on your website.</p>
<p>A large part of searches won&#8217;t click on a PPC ad because they know it is exactly that, an ad.  Being listed in the organic results is like a referral from a friend rather than a suggestion of a salesperson.</p>
