    It used to be that a website was used to throw up a few pictures of the family bbq or show the world that your business was on the cutting edge. Nowadays a website is a necessary and integral part of any business. Attorneys in Los Angeles are no different. 10 years ago if a lawyer had a website it was an anomaly, 5 years ago you were cutting edge and today, if you don’t have one now, you are considered a dinosaur.
    Now, just because you have a website doesn’t mean it is effective. Since Google and Yahoo are the lords of the internet world you have to please them in order to be rewarded with a 1st page ranking. Those types of results can literally transform a solo attorney to a firm of 5 or more lawyers. Why? Because internet marketing is the least expensive type of advertising you can do, IF done right.
    The power of the World Wide Web allows you to reach anyone in the world. You don’t need to buy ads on the back of a bus or double truck spots in the Yellow Pages. What you do need is a good online resource with Search Engine Optimization targeted towards your practice area and geography.
    Is this something you can do on your own? Sure, and I can represent myself in court but I wouldn’t because I don’t have the experience or time to do an effective job. The same is true for internet marketing. By choosing an expert who understands the internet and how attorneys need to market, you put yourself in position to drive clients to your firm.
